Portacool Hurricane™ Series
NOTICE: This series is discontinued. All models in this series are categorized as Legacy Models.
Applies to SKUs: PACHR360 and PACHR370
Important Reminder
The Hurricane Series features rugged, corrosion-resistant construction, requiring minimal maintenance. However, regular cleaning is essential to keep your evaporative cooler operating at peak performance.
Daily Maintenance
Turn off the pump about 15 minutes before shutting down the fan. This allows the HydroTek™ media to dry out, extending its lifespan and helping to prevent the growth of mildew, mold, bacteria, and other odor-causing elements.
Weekly Maintenance
Shut down the unit and drain the water tank at least once a week. To do this, close the water flow valve and remove the drain plug. Once the tank is drained and the power is disconnected, remove the HydroTek™ media to clean the unit thoroughly. This ensures optimal performance and helps maintain the longevity of your evaporative cooler.
If your water quality is affected by hard water, you can purchase Portacool Hard Water Treatment™ from Part and Accessories or from an authorized distributor. This treatment modifies the ionic structure of minerals in your water, preventing them from accumulating on the media. It enhances cooling efficiency, prevents scale buildup, reduces equipment corrosion, and prolongs the life of your evaporative media.
Storage
1. Drain all water from the tank and wipe it clean, ensuring both the evaporative media and water tank are completely dry.
2. Roll up the power cord and secure it to prevent it from being rolled over, tripped over, or caught in equipment.
3. Cover the unit completely to protect it from dust and debris. Store it in a dry area to prevent damage to the evaporative media and maintain your Portacool’s longevity.
