Founded in 1990, Portacool is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year. To give you a view into what makes the leader in evaporative cooling tick, we’re spotlighting long-time employees and a few that have made a big impact in a short time to share their memories, experiences and perspectives during their time with the company.

What initially drew you to Portacool? How did you first get involved with Portacool?
With Portacool being a local company, it was easy for me to commute. I had always heard about the company and was curious about working here while growing up. Portacool does many things for the community that helps our area and I’m proud to say I work for a company that cares about the youth of the area.
What was Portacool like when you first started?
The company has grown so much from where it was when I first started. The APL lines, the FirePro lines – none of them were there. It is exciting to see the growth because that means I can grow with the company!
What is your favorite thing about working at Portacool?
Over time the people I work with have become like my family. You develop relationships, get to know each other, share the highs and the lows. I started working here when I was 24 years old. Some of these people have seen me grow up!
